Default Engine questions

What size engines are in civic lx? dx? ex? etc.... ARe they all the same? WHat advantage would these other models have over an lx? A 4 door compared to a 2 door civic... Would there be a difference if these two cars were raced with oem parts? Would there be a weight difference? What engines would fit into a civic 98 lx? Basically anything? WHat do you look for?

If you are referring to weight of the entire car as opposed to just the engine, the CX hatchback is the lightest.

well if you were to race two stock cars and one was a 2door and the other was a 4door, the 2 door would be quickest but by only half a sec. or a whole sec. because of the weight and also depending if it was a 5 speed or a auto.

Not by that much. Every 100 lbs shaved saves approximately 1/10 of a second in the 1/4 mi.
94 DX Coupe (MT): 2231 lbs
94 DX Sedan (MT): 2313 lbs

But yes, all other things being equal (including driver skill), the lighter car will always be faster to some extent.

In a car like a Civic, yes, you will be a bit faster in a car with a manual transmission than in an automatic, unless you drive like a retard.
