I would stay away from them if I were you. I have 18secFerio is the first person who I respect who said they like them. Don't get them, you pay for what you get.

What about just getting the struts (and keeping stock springs)? I need a cheap replacement for a leaking OEM strut in the rear. My 95 Civic EX isn't lowered and I don't plan to as I will likely sell it within a year or two.

whoa, dead thread!

Sure, you can replace just the struts. Go to an auto parts joint and get two rears and bolt them in. I like to replace that stuff at least in pairs, all four would be ideal.

I was talking about using Drop Zone struts with stock springs. Getting only two new (rear) structs from the local parts store would run my $100, whereas I can get a seat of four Drop Zones for $150....or better yet four Red Suspensions struts for only $100:

Actually I have a set of 99 Si struts, but the rears don't fit (because the bottom mounting flange isn't as wide as it needs to be) and the fronts don't have any mounting flanges (on the strut) for the brake lines.

Cheap aftermarket replacement shocks shouldn't cost a dime over $50 each.

I personally wouldn't touch anything with the 'dropzone' brand name.

You're correct, but the cheapest I have found locally is $50 each so that makes a set of them $200. For $200 I can get a set of KYB GR-2 via mail order. I am now wondering if I get some adjustable shocks to use with the stock springs and drop the car about 1/2"-1". I guess doing that with the stock springs would make the ride suffer though, right?
