Default cruise control wont work.

ever since i bought the car it never worked, when i turn the switch on it doesnt light up, but i checked it and it is getting power, i was told that it can be the "coil wires" inside the steering wheel. anybody help me out? thanks

well mine doesn't work either. and the light does light up on the button but it wont keep going. i just slow down. buttons don't seem to work.

we can make a club.... My honda's cruise control doesn't work

I'll be a member. It just stopped working one day, outta the blue.

I dont even have cruise control ...all i got was that cover that goes over the area on the wheel.

Yeah no cruisecontrol sucks. Its hard to pay attention for a long time and keep a constant speed. Any way you can mock up an aftermarket kit? Id be willing to pay for it.

Mine works! :wiggle:

I even gathered parts from a junkyard and retrofitted factory cruise onto my old base model Camry :bigok:

If you have a Helms manual you might want to see if it has troubleshooting tips for the cruise control. I had a factory electrical manual for my Camry, and that helped TONS figuring out how to wire up the factory cruise.

my mech told me that there is a coil inside the steering wheel that opens and closes everytime your turn the wheel, said it was expensive to fix, anybody ever seen what this looks like? im not willing to take apart my steering wheel, guess i can take it out.

The coil reel, for cruise functions, air bag and possibly for horn but I'm not sure. If that coil reel is not working for some reason, most likely your air bag light will be on, and horn won't work.
