I think both the top and bottom units are part of the same system. Looks like the bottom part that you are wondering plays both cd's and minidiscs. The top part has the screen.

I dunno man...I have never heard of a JDM coupe, are you sure that isnt a UK coupe..cause I know they have them over in europe.

edit: there was never a coupe produced in Japan...they were imported from the UK...therefore proving my point that there is no such thing as a JDM coupe....ah thankyou
