Tell me what a CKF sensor is and I'll tell you if the Sol has it.

The CKF sensor is the Crank Speed Fluctuation Sensor and is located near the Crank pulley on the bottom of the engine on the driver's side. The wires come out from between the crank pulley and the alternator. From what I understand it only exists on OBD2 engines so I don't think you have it. Note that mine was not even connected for a while after my swap (B16A2) and my VTEC worked fine. If you're running the B16A3 (obd1) with a 96 GSR ECU (obd2) then you should probably think about getting the proper ecu to match the engine and save yourself alot of headaches.

Yeah, for real. That's similar to the time some guy came to my uncle (who has been an independent Porsche mechanic for ~30 years) with his 1960s 911. He needed some arcane sensor, the dealership told him it would be a 6 month wait from Stuttgart or wherever they stock those things, and like $1000 just for the part - but they'd have to hire a mechanic in Virginia to come do the work, because they didn't have any mechanics who had ever messed with the electrical system of a '60s 911. Or something. A dedicated Porsche warehouse in New York quoted him $850 for the same thing, and they didn't even know what it was, just looked it up in a catalog. None of the mechanics he called knew what the hell he was talking about either.

So he walks into my uncle's shop, and asks him for the sensor... totally flat voice, obviously not expecting much. My uncle immediately replies "Oh, one of those? Hold on..." digs through a barrel of stuff, finds one at the bottom, and charges the guy $5 more than he bought it in 1971 or whenever. The actual cost of the sensor - $44.88.

This dude took an immediate liking to my uncle and now they're almost best friends.
