So my car was throwing a CEL....
:chuckles: honda wanted $70 just to look at the thing.
my honda/acura certified mechanic checked the code for free.
I initially thought it might be the o2 sensor in the exhaust manifold, but it turned out to be related to the exhaust manifold being slightly cracked in the vicenity the o2 sensor.
so I asked how much a new lx/dx/hx header would run....
$450 :down:
so here's the situation:
I checked out how much an auto->manual conversion would run. My first thought was to get an ex header, ex exhaust, and an ex tranny. Naturally, shops wanted ~$2000 just for the tranny swap. fuck that.....
my car has 102xxx miles on it, too few to throw in the rag on the y7. Even then, I just put new axles/cv boots on it, so that would make that $300 pretty much pointless. So I don't want to swap now....
should I just get an aftermarket header and exhaust for the ex? I really rather not, but for the price, it would be better to replace the parts with something that might give me some gain (I'm sure that from the head back, the lx/dx is pretty restrictive stock. I bet I could actually notice a gain with a new system from the header back). My biggest thing is the whole automatic/shitty gearing-thing.

A muffler shop will beable to make it work very easily.

I was actually thinking a custom exaust with a magnaflow muffler, but again, I don't want to be too loud....

ive got magnaflow muffler with 2.25 custom pipes, its quiet at llow rpms, loud at high
