It's more about keeping the vacuum flow going...
I read somewhere while researching about my oil catch can that by not attaching the valve cover breater to your intake, you can actually cause problems with your piston rings sealing correctly.

What's the harm in putting a tube between the intake and the valve cover? h:

my engines ran perfect for 40k miles like this... its at 125k now.. :dunno: maybe if im bored ill swap iit back :chuckles:

on topic, the best solution to those breathers and not have oil recycle thru ur intake is to attach the hose bakk and get a oil catch tank.

my engine isnt worked enough (power) to have any oil come out there... cort's does lol, and he has a breather on there like me, just on the engine side.. hes always wiiping oil off his cover right there lol... but thats 600hp...

i used to have a breather on my d16z6 and i would wipe oil off regularly, i was usin a k&n breather as well. :dunno:

Why not just mount it? Just place the bar on and line it up, mark it, drill it, clean it, paint it with some touch up and bolt it in...
