Hey everyone.....been a while since i've been on.....

Living in miami beach now with my wife, and friday morining someone tried to steal my ride. They couldnt get it started so they stripped out the whole guage cluster and all plastic around the bezel and the stering column. Also took the whole climate control unit and my whole system. No broken windows or locks....they pryed the window out and also pryed the trunk open.

The ignition is damaged since they ripped it apart trying to start the car....but i can get it started by piecing it all back together.

Looks like i have quite a project to get everything back together....

heres my question....
96 civic EX is the car.....is a 99-00 climate control plug and play or do i need a 96-98? Keep in mind i need to replace everything there...i just dont want to have to splice wires.......

2nd.....i know stereo installs as many of you know, but its time for a better alarm....something i can do or should i pay to have it done? all other work has been done by me.

3rd. Anyone have parts for sale from upgrades/totals etc?
need whole cluster/bezel, whole center climate control w/ bezel and mounts(no stereo). Also, gray driver side 2 door pannel for power window.

1. its a bit of work
do a search and see

2 if you know how to do then you should be ok
if you not sure then have a shop or someone else do it

 

I dont think there will be a problem with the work....more than anything, i need to know if the 99-00 climate control is plug n play in the 96....and also if the bezel will fit in the provided slot.

stick with the 96-98 climate controls, its a lot of work to convert to 99-00 spec.

Now i'm assuming its universal between the trim levels as long as it has ac. i've never researched the specifics of anything besides the EX. 2 door 4 door dash is the same, i just have to make sure its the EX Manual gauges.......please correct me if im wrong.

 

the 96-98 is cable controled while the 99-00 is electronic
and then you gotta move the vents to fit it

 

seeing Si gauges on ebay too......might just do those since they seem to be more avail.........

we'll see whats out there when i get the check.

 

Electronic knobs instead of cables behind the sliders i take it?
