Default o2 question...

I think the plugs are reveresed on my civic. I currently have an o2 with a male plug on the end. Its obviously plugs into a female connector on my engine harness. I ordered a gsr o2 because mine is having issue and came to realize the end is also a female. So now it won't plug into my harness. Anyone ever run into this issue? What would you recommend?

chop the wires and connect them yourself. just make sure each wire is connected to where its supposed to be.

Sell Civic, get GSR!:fawk:

I just thought of this...what about getting an O2 from a Civic Si or another EX. I would assume the O2 itself is the same whether or not it is from a GSR/Civic Ex/etc. Lets ask Mark today at lunch.

THis is Slacker...

You cannot cut the wires going from the plug to the o2 because they are heated.

BTW.. How's your car running?

I think shielded is the word your looking for. They sensor itself is heated, same way a bathroom heater functions. It only works when it's up to tempurature so you heat it so you have less time after starting a cold engine till it starts working and controlling emissions.

Are you sure your trying to plug it into the correct place on the harness? It's been too long since I messed with one to remember which side of the plug is male or female. What harness, engine, car, sensor are you trying to get to work?

it is perfectly fine to splice and cut the plugs. just make sure you solder the wires and keep the shielding. it'll be fine, i've done it a dozen times. :goodjob:
