Default Difference in LX and EX ??

I was just curious what the main differences between the LX and EX models of the Civics were. I'm guessing engine and susp. Anything else and could you tell me what the actual diff. are?

Thanks...

Moonroof was optional on the LX and so was AC and Power Windows/locks

There was probably a spoiler option in there too that was standard on the EX.

I'm sure you could see most diffs at www.edmunds.com

for 96-00 LX and EX have the same redline, and LX and EX are diff in that they LX is a 4 door only, and the EX is coupe or sedan, and has moonroof body coolerd stuff, 6 speaker stereo, cd player standard, keyless entry, and bigger engine.

You're wrong

LX has non-VTEC engine, 6500 rpm (?)
EX has VTEC engine, 7200 rpm

6500 sounds right to me.

You're wrong on this as well. ALL 6th gen civics had a 1.6L engine. The EX has VTEC, but the LX does not. The engine is the same size though.

As far as the 5th gen LX and EX sedans go....

Think of the LX as a DX with power options. Same 1.5 sohc non-vtec engine. But the LX has standard power windows, and locks.

Optional: Sunroof and ABS w/ rear disc brakes.

EX sedans, power everything with standard sunroof. EX sedan had standard ABS w/rear discs. Also had the 1.6 sohc vtec.

EX coupes, had power everything, 1.6 sohc vtec, but ABS and rear discs were and option.
