Default leaking oil - source?

hey guys, my car is more or less falling apart, muffler rusted. oil dripping everywhere....
ok the deal is i found out the oil drips. but not *that* much. but enough for me to worry about.
i took a look underneath and basically. i did tighten the oil pan drain bolt yesterday but today some oil was still coming out.
i wiped the pan yesterday and well half of the pan is greasy.
any ideas where this oil might be coming from? the oil filter is pretty tight and so is the drain plug. can someone help me out here? is there a common place / thing that the oil leaks out from?

thanks a lot

Replace the washer on the drain bolt, and see if any gaskets need replacing.

Check the oil sending unit. It's above the oil filter.

Also realize overtightening the oil drain bolt is prolly worse than not tight. You want to tighten it down to about 17ft/lbs.

I'd check the gaskets.

wat does it do?

i would suggest when you change your oil next time, check for deposits on the threads of the oil pan... that can cause a slow leek too

Overtightening your steel bolt on an ALUMINUM pan can strip the threads and cost alot of money to replace the oil pan. Just light you shouldn't overtighten the spark plugs.
