ok my friend is a HUGE rice boy. He claims he has 180 hp out of his 98 civic ex with just an exhaust and intake. Thats another story. But now he is claiming that he does not have a d series engine but an e series. He says it is some kind of economy engine. Is this right or is he just makin more stuff up.

The E-series was the first line of straight-4 automobile engines from Honda. These engines were used in the popular Honda Civic, Accord, and Prelude cars in the 1970s and 1980s. One notable technology was CVCC, introduced with this family, which allowed the company to meet high emissions standards without using a catalytic converter.
The CVCC ED1 was on the Ward's 10 Best Engines of the 20th Century list.
