Default exhausts...

i want to buy a new cat back soon for my car and i have a couple ?s
my friend (skelly_gsr) has an old school RS*R exhaust that is 2.5 inches in diameter and he swears by it. he said 2.5 is the best diameter, but all i can seem to find is 60 mm (2.36") and it seems like his would lose some torque due to lack of back pressure. what do you guys recommend?
im looking at the rs*r GT2:

Since you got an Si...do 2.5". But, the RS*R is a good choice.

i believe 2.25 is ideal up to 2.0L unless FI... then 3" is ideal

I live the looks of the R*SR GT2 exhaust. What kind sound does it have? I'd assume deep and throaty.
