Default Muffler Replacement for 96 Civic EX

I have a 96 Civic EX 5 speed. I need to replace the rear muffler. The dealer quotes me at $174.00, which I find ridiculous. Ive seen prices in the $80 dollar range at web sites such as honda-auto-parts-wholesale.com. Are these guys reputable? Who is a good provider of OEM on-line parts at a discount?

I guess getting an aftermarket one wouldn't not be a problem for me as long as I know it will have the same quality as the original.

Both HKS and 5Zigen make bolt on aftermarket mufflers that use your existing stock piping. Might want to browse www.optauto.com to get a glance at them.

I've heard of people putting RSX mufflers on their 6th gens. Anyone know if they bolt the same or if they have them modded?

RSX muffler needs to be modified.

Just an FYI...you can use any 96-00 2 or 4 door rear section from any model including the Si.

They all bolt up.
