Previous Owners
I was going to post this in someone else's thread regarding cluster lights, but then I realized that would probably be hijacking his thread, so I made a new one.
[Rant]
I hate previous owners. They always do dumb shit. Ok, so not always...but I'm bitter about all the stuff I had to fix/replace/de-ghetto from the previous owner of my car. :kicks self: A bunch of it I didn't notice when I went to look at the car, because I'm a dumbass. Not that I don't love my car or anything...
Previous owner...
-Painted many interior parts white, and did a terrible job of it. I replaced those...took me awhile to find all the parts at junkyeards and stuff.
-Painted some interior parts that were already black, black. Replaced those (they were cracked too)
-Installed stupid indiglo gauges...I might have left them in, except CX clusters don't have a tach, and you can't see the damn needles! Then there's the part where indiglo gauges = :ghey:
-Removed rear seat. Why? I don't know. Replaced that.
-Painted headliner black. Looks ok colorwise, but it comes off really easily and therefore looks kinda cheap.
-Installed EXTRA ghetto air intake. Drop in filter on stock tubing. Not a cone filter, mind you, a drop in filter.
-Did extra shoddy job of fixing an exhaust problem...hard to describe, but it sucked.
-Forgot to fully replace all screws/fasteners removed when taking various parts out to paint them! LAME!
-Never bothered to have a bent rear trailing arm fixed after an accident (which I also wasn't aware the car had been in
). The alignment on that one wheel was so bad, the car drove at an angle on snowy roads (kinda scary).
-Installed uber-:ghey: clear corners, but was kind enough to include the stock amber corners.
-Broke passenger side vent on the dashboard. I have yet to fix that.
AND...I think that's everything. [/Rant]
Anyone else have a similar experience?

When I bought my CX, it had a foot switch where the dead pedal was supposed to be. I don't know if he removed the dead pedal or a CX never had one, but where it normally is was the high beam switch out of an old Ford truck (they're foot actived, our '86 dually shop truck has one). There were two thick (maybe 10 gauge) orange wires running from it, up through a firewall grommet and just tied off below the clutch master cylinder. I still wonder to this day what the hell that thing was supposed to control. There was no holes or cutouts for foglights and the motor barely looked cared for, much less modified.

Mine was in great shape as far as the interior, chasis, and body were concerned but the engine bay was a mess. I bought the car off of a buddy that admits he's not mechanical and never took care of the thing... anyhow one day he blew a big ol hole in the block and we worked out a deal where as I would by the car from him for $600 since it had a lot of miles and needed a new motor.
The worst thing besides the motor was that it was an automatic and the interior was covered in cigarette ash. I quickly converted that shit to manual and gutted the interior to clean it out... I litterally stripped the seats down to its metal/foam subframe and ran the seat covers through the wash... she looks great now and you would never know that a smoker drove it.
Thank God there was no ghetto shit done to it though.
Ps... check the link in my sig for my site and you can see the before of my car... the picture doesn't do it justice though... everything in the bay was coated with oil that looked much like tar

my car came in great shape, all stock EX, never been smoked in, only thing wrong was that the stock cd player wouldnt work all the time, and the hose connecting the windsheild washer tank was broken, possibly from bottoming out cause there was a minor crack in the bottom bumper, but nothing that shows the car was abused. got it with 54k miles on it for $9,500. its a 2000 btw.
