Default What Struts?

All 4 of my struts are blown and i hate even driving my
car because it is so damn bouncy. Just wondering
what stuts are better for a 97 Civic SI (EX) with an
Eibach Pro-Kit. Price wise I'm looking at either Tokico
Illumina's or KYB AgX's. What do you recommend?.
Koni's are too much right now or i would get them.

Either the AGX or Illumina will be fine with your Pro-kit. I'd suggest the AGX simply because price is an issue for you. I'm sure they'll serve you very well.

BTW, you have shocks, not struts.

Definitely KYB if you want adjustable rebound damping then.
And I know it can't be everyone else...but if so, everyone else has been misinformed. h:

If you are trying to save money, go with the agx's. I have tokico's and I like them a lot, but they are more expensive than the agx's which are also good.

I have the KYB AGX's and like them alot. Full adjustable and easy to put on. I would say go with the KYB's!

What are the differences between shocks and struts? I know this has been covered, but I am still confused on this one. The service manual just calls them dampers.

This has also been bothering me lately so get this right.

They're actually called a shock in a Double Wishbone suspension.
A strut is what a Macpherson strut suspension has. The basic difference with the strut is that it rotates as you steer the wheels.

There is a bearing in the strut mount which sits on the top of the strut. Also a Macpherson strut suspension doesn't have a upper control arm.

A strut and shock have the same job, they're often called dampers. They dampen shocks that the springs absorb, hence the name damper.

I'm running Pro-kit with AGx shocks... no complaints.

setting 2 front and 4 or 5 in back, will give you a near stock ride (better then stock without the body roll).
