acetone will actually burn the plastic if exposed to it too long. you might as well use brake cleaner.

anyway best way is either to use the meguiars plastic cleaner or the 3M and a buffer with a lambskin buffing pad. the lambskin will help cut into the plastic to get rid of the residue.

 

don't flame me fellas, but is wetsanding exactly like it sounds? Wet the plastic and then sand?

 

my method is to constantly drip water onto the area while you are sanding.

sandpaper lasts longer...and u get a smoother sanded surface.
