Default KaBoom!

I was riding around last night after replacing my throttle body gasket and I downshifted hard getting on the highway and all I heard was a crackle sound, saw a poof of white smoke, and my car died. It started back up but it's knocking really hard. I'll disassemble it this weekend but I already know it fubard. I have quite a bit of coolant in my oil, and oil in my coolant. I'll have to reevaluate this weekend. I just spent a shit load getting the hatch, motor and replacing a bunch of suspension parts on my coupe so I can't afford another built block right now with christmas coming. Man this hobby sucks sometimes. I really need to sell all the CRX shit I have.

If I slap another B in there it will be my third one. I should have had the block sleeved.

Damn, lets hope its just a head gasket or something relatively small (as opposed to blown pistons/rings etc). At least its not your only car. Good luck!

Three motors?! Where did you get them from? Because if it was from a reputable shop like hmotors and such...you drive way too hard. I hope they were from junkyards or smashed cars because three motors is a lot to go through for just having it for a few years.

Well the first one was just a bad motor and the oilpump blew right after the warranty period. The second motor was too much boost on a stock block. In the third one I had it built by a local guy with Crower Rods and cams and a block guard but that's it. I was running about 14 psi and never went much above that. I'm gonna rip it apart this weekend but there is a lot of oil in the coolant. a little too much to be just be a head gasket. I may rebuild it for all motor duty. I want to boost the hell out of the D16Z6 I'm putting in the hatch.
