40 on 17 inch wheel?

Dayum son....if I'm right that's the amount of tire that is shown after the rim itself....your tires are going to be extremely thin...I got 40s on my 16" and it's kinda thin....

If you go over a bump to fast or runover something, you could dent your wheel.....gl man.

For a 17x7" wheel you need 205/40x17" tires with 42-44mm offset. 17x7.5" is around 43mm offset

You are talking about tire size, he is talking about offset.

Most offsets on 17" wheels on a Civic is 40-43.

My Racing Harts were 40, ever so slight rubbing.
Other 17" wheels I have tried were 37-38.

A 40 profile tire on a 17" wheel is actually recommended.

Yeah, having a +37mm offset on wheels is not cool on a civic. Especially if you're running 45 series tires. :happysad:

It also depends on the tires.

Yeah, that was the thing, on my 16x7 GP-0's, I was running on 40 series tires with no problems of rubbing whatsoever. But now that I switched to a 45 series tire, there are some rubbing issues every now and then during everday driving.
