Default Front discs to replace rear drums?

Dumb question. Can you use front disk brakes to replace rear drum brakes?

I'm going to get new brakes for just my front. I think it's overkill to get brembo's for the rear (for my usage) so I'd like to move my front stock disks to replace the rear drums when I get the new ones (6th gen civic EX). Is this possible? Is it just the issue of the parking brake?

You'd need the whole hub, not just the rotor. And you'd need them for the rear, not the front.

10" rear brakes are a bit over kill for a civic. (on a side note, my roomate's rear brakes are bigger than my fronts, 10" vented gti 337)

I don't believe the front setup would not fit... what's wrong with having bbk's in the rear? :naughty: :rick:

fronts will not work in the rear.... and if they did....your brake setup will be overkill in the rear and possibly be a very dangerous setup.

As long as the braking is balanced, I don't believe that it's bad to have larger brakes

Won't happen.

Do a search, you can put the rear disk brake setup off a teg on your car though

It absolutely won't work, much like putting a square peg in a round whole.

Search salvage yards or the internet for the entire rear assemblies off of an Integra.

I picked mine up for $150, a buddy of mine found his for $100. But basically the easiest way to do this swap is get the entire rear assemblies(trailing arm, hub, rotors, etc) and it will just bolt right up in place of your civics assemblies. This is much easier and quicker than swapping just the hubs... it's a simple bolt in affair. You can replace the upper and lower control arms to but there is no need to. Just unbolt your control arms then the trailing arm and throw in the integra stuff and voila!

You'll need the e-brake cable too unless you just leave your car in gear when you park.
