What would be best for a B18C, the MSD 6A or the SCI? And is it worth the upgrade?

 

Is the motor built? I dont really see the point in ignition upgrades unless it is. My old turbo hatch didnt have any and started fine everytime.

 

it will be a complete motor, and ready to install when it comes, i got some extra cash to play around with, and evenutally i wanna turbo it, but before i do, i need to do some stuff to the engine so it preforms well w/the turbo. I am getting an intake, exhaust and apexi v-afc. should i just stay away from the MSD all together?

 

Dont waste money on an expensive intake because you are going to get rid of it when you do get turbo. Most people do upgrade there ignition with msd blaster coil or other shit, but the stock starter and igntition worked fine for me.

 

Go for the MSD SCI and street blaster coil...happy camper here. There's a lot more to an ignition system then just starting fine. I run as smooth as silk and have never had any detonation problems, I highly recommend the MSD SCI

 

I just run the MSD blaster ext. coil. I also run Magnacor 10mm plug wires and NGK-R plugs. I'm happy with my setup. I've heard bad things about the MSD full ignition kits... not worth the hassle to me.
