I was all the way in the grass cause I spun about 20-40 feet from the pavement into the grass (mowing the lawn)

At least you and the car is okay....

How does spinning out mess up the running of your engine? Oil starvation? Or something else?

Well the centripal force of spinning will make the gas slosh to one side and since I run with 1/8 tank fuel starvation comes into play. The fuel pick up will now suck in air and my engine stalled even though I had both feet in on the brakes and clutch. And then I tried starting the engine and it didn't start since I had to prime the fuel pump again.

It can also happen to oil and coolant, but I would think the effects would be more damaging.
