It's a FMIC, not an intake, people usually with turbos get it, to cool the air that goes through the turbo from all the heat dissipated from the exhaust in the turbo aswell. The Filter would be in back of the radiator sometimes and travel down to the right side of the FMIC, the air would then be cooled off by the FMIC and travel back up to the TB.
EDIT: Nm, saw that it wasn't a intercooler, and it actually is a filter...i guess it would give you colder air, but you'd need a Bypass Valve for sure.
