which ECU do I need

I will be using a 99 LS (OBDll) wiring harness for my swap, does that mean I have to use an OBDll ECU like a P73 or can I modify the wiring harness for a P72?

The P72 comes in two flavors, OBD-1 and OBD-2. You can use the harness for both, but the OBD-1 needs a jumper harness or serious repinning. Wires also need to be added for VTEC related bits used by the P72.
