Default OEM "Styled" bumpers

How good are they?

I'm in the market for a new front and rear stock bumper. And the cheapest ones I've seen... are the ones styled after the OEM ones. I've seen pictures where the lower grill and fog light slots are the same color grey.. as the rest of the bumper:

:eh: I mean... my car is black.. so it wouldn't look as odd if those were to be painted, as if I had a red car, or something. But.. anyone know what the quality and fitment are usually on these?

Edit: I'm also planning on adding OEM fog lights eventually... so.. if I got the cheapo OEM style bumper.. would that make instilation more difficult?

'Nother edit. Adding a lip as well... will that be a bitch?

I have first hand experience with www.partmartone.com and their bumper replacements. I was very impressed and couldn't even tell a difference between it and an OEM bumper. It's very good quality and the fitment was right on.

I wouldn't trust an EBAY replacement unless it was them selling it.

That bumper is from Partmartone..
Good to know. I'll keep that in mind.

h: But I just found an OEM bumper with Si lip and grill.. so.. we'll see what happens with that

Plus.. Partmartone offers to paint to match bumpers for $150... any idea how good that is.. or are you sticking with Macco.

I don't think it would be a good idea to have it matched and then shipped to you. Not sure if it'll get damaged during shipping. It might sound like a good deal, but if it comes to you damaged, you're gonna end up paying more than you have to.

Also, they're going to match the original paint, which may be several shades off of your current paint color.

I'm going to call them today.. Find out how the whole process works.. shipping, etc. Plus, they accept peices sent to them to match exactly, and I have a few spare painted parts lying around I can send out to them or a gas door... or something..

We'll see...

I'd call them. They often have things they don't put up on the site.
