Default Tranny Question

Im looking to change my tranny before it goes bad on my 95 civic cooop (Auto)....Is there any other tranny that i can put in its place that has better gear ratio or is just a better all around tranny?? Can any1 out there give me some help? thnx

Just about any five speed manual will have better gearing. A five speed EX or Si would do you just fine.

As for an automatic... I doubt it. Four speed automatic gears suck no matter what.

Ditto on the Si/EX tranny. I know the gear ratios between the two are *very* similar. I think the EX has a slightly taller 5th gear or something. Don't quote me though. I another cool one, if you want a cable tranny is an old ZC tranny w/ LSD. :thumbup:

I'm pretty sure those are all manual transmissions.

Btw, just keep your current auto tranny in there. It's really not necessary to put another auto tranny that has a shorter gear ratio differential.

Yeah, I know those are (at least mostly) manual transmissions...I was posting it under the assumption that he was thinking seriously about converting.
