Default I learned something today - Mounts

The D16Z6 upper cam mount is the same mount as the Bseries' use. h:

I worked on a guy's car (replaced his axles, put in prothane mounts) and thought he got the wrong cam mount inserts. After popping his hood and comparing it to the Bseries mount I have, it's the same.

I had no idea. I know the D15B7 one is different.

I just thought I'd share if anyone is doing a Bseries swap on a 5th gen EX/Si. You won't need that mount from the swap.

the internat stuff i believe is different between the b and d series for that mount.

when you go rid of the rubber did water or liquid come out of the mount?

if you drill into the rubber of b series mount. there is liquid in there. i don't think the d series are the same in that sense. i could be wrong.

also. i thought the d series mounts only had 2 holes for the studs coming up and no third hole for the bolt going down. the d series had all 3 holes?

hmm.. lost my post in the db optimizing. hmmpf

Don't know about liquid because we decided not to do that one due to the lack of a press.

The Dseries mount did have 3 holes: 2 for the studs and 1 for the bolt that screws into the motor itself.

I shouldn't be telling you this either... you won't buy my mount. :happysad:

the d-series mounts are also liquid filled to supress the vibration from the engine.
