personally im not rich so i like nitrous. its effective, cheap, and its not constant stress on you motor like in turbo and superchargers. if i were to pick and money were no object i would supercharge. unlike turbos there is no lag once you hit the throttle your out. turbos work off of the exaust so at lower rpms there is less of a flow going through the exaust and the turbo isnt spining very fast it takes a sec before you get the full effect. but in superchargers it is turned by the crank so once the crank turns so does the supercharger. but i would strongly advise against a major mod like nitrous, supercharging, or turbocharging without upgrading the internals. with your car i would do a head swap get forged pistons and rods stronger valves and while your in there take it to a machine shop and have it bored out some remember theres no replacement for displacement. my auto teacher says on a daily basis that major mods are not bad just not having a motor that can hold it. "Your strongest point is your weakest link." so upgrade the enternals and use nitrous or supercharge depending on how much you wanna spend. keep me posted.

My D15B7 doesn't weigh enough to be a boat anchor. It almost doesn't suck. I love how much it doesn't put out, and how weak all of the internals are. That's why it's so fuel efficient. It's perfectly crappy by design, just the way Honda intended it to be.

You have a D16, don't you? Aren't 96+ DX's at least 1.6L's? If so, your best bet is still a mini-me swap. I wouldn't boost it without a different bottom end.

What have they done to it? A street car to me isn't a gutted out 3 mpg vehichle that breaks down all of the time. That in my opinion is really a race car, the owner just hasn't figured that out yet.

depending on how cheap you can get the LS i would maybe go with the LS if thats where your heart wants to go.

if you get an LS and maybe put i/h/e and some beefy cams(JG makes some killer ones for the LS i heard) with gears(of course) ignition, upgraded fuel system and a good wheel/tire/suspension combo and you could put down some more than decent times. some guy here in hawaii has an LS in his 97 civic with cams and all the other stuff i listed and he runs mid-high 14s which i think isnt that bad on GSR rims.

um, y7 is kinda just there....

but I think I might keep mine to mess with. If I blow it up, a b16 is going in.

but some things I'm thinking of doing:
-y7 head, block
-y8 tranny (auto to manual )
-1st gen supra pistons w/ b16 rods (you need to notch the head)
-skunk2 Intake Manifold for y8
-y8 header, catback exhaust, highflow cat
-maybe a y8 oil pan
-a y7 aftermarket cam
-upgraded fuel and stuff

and, eventually, boost
