Remember that it was he who could have averted the war by saying, "nope, don't have 'em...come on in and let me show you." But we all know that didn't happen. If anyone has any doubt about Saddam's weapons programs, I would suggest reading "Saddam's Bomb Maker" by Khidhir Hamza. Hamza was in charge of Saddam's Nuclear program, and he also speaks of Saddam's biological and chemical weapons program. Considering he was an "inside" guy, I think he would know better than most.

Oh, to stay on topic..."No."
Very good point. Most people who have nothing to hide are not affraid to let people see what they do have. Saddam's regime kicked UNSCOM out in 1998. Red flag raised right there. Part of the agreement to end Dessert Storm was complete surrender of all WMD, and an end to his hostilities to his neighboors. Then the very second we leave, he's back knocking of the Kurds in the north. They guy couldn't be trusted if he told you the sky was blue. He should have realized, or mabe his ego was too big to let that happen, that he has been under the microscope since about 1988. He fluffed it off, and now he's done. End of story.
