yah white smoke is burning oil in the combustion chamber, blueish smoke is gas not being burned or a dead cylinder no spark something like that, if ur blowing white smoke there is a good possibility ur rings are fried, could be other things, but rings are the most common, what u want to do is a compression check, go to autozone and rent their little machine to check the compression or go buy one for like 30 bucks, if the cylinder compression goes up to where it is supposed to be but then the needle falls slowly that means uve got air escaping past the pistons, u can use a heavier weight oil to stop oil consumption and make it harder for the oil to get into the combustion chamber but more than likely ur gonna need a rebuild, but a rebuild isnt that cheap, requires pulling out the pistons. do a compression check first to see whats going on.
