I thought Koni only made shock absorbers

Maybe you're getting coilovers matched with Koni shocks. A popular combo would be Koni Yellows/Ground Controls.

As for the Brembos, I suggest going with Brembo blanks. No real reason to go for cross-drilled and/or slotted because you would actually lose contact area between the pad and the rotor. Blanks would be fine unless you're going to make the car a track slut.
