there is nothing wrong with the 88 (ive had 3) its either a dx that has been rewired with mpfi or an hf that came with, definitely not an si. it but that doesnt matter any more, in order to see what kind of condition it is in ur gonna have to rip the engine apart, replace the rods, check the pistons and cylinder walls. not too much work, nice body paint is good id say go for it for that price if youve got an extra grand or 2 to throw some work into the engine completely rebuilding it, or even if u need a whole new long block for the b16 itd only cost u about 500 dollars US. so not a big deal.
