It is purpose built for experienced riders. Although some do start on them as a first bike I would not recommend that as a first bike...same with any of the Gixxers.
Oh, I was just saying that the gixxer came out on bottom... I'd not get one. I listen to people when they tell me it's not a good beginner bike
I went to Del Amo Motorsports today, and talked to a sales dood. He told me that a good bike to start out with, but wouldn't limit your growth on bikes would be a 600 or 650 suzuki. I sat on the Katana 600, it felt really comfortable, and not too aggressive. Also took a look at the SV650S. He didn't have any "sporty" 250's or 500's on the floor, but they could be ordered if I wanted.
he was wanting me to buy it before I even passed my MCR or the safety one

h: I was like... well, I gotta know how to ride before I buy, or even consider buying. So I got his card and a number to a 800 number for the MCR places closest to me. He said once I pass the MCR I can test ride the bikes during the day and not on the freeway, and after I do the safety course, I can drive em at night or on the freeway
I also saw the GSX1300R or some such thing, had a big 'ol Hayabusa on the side. That thing was friggin huge.
