Definately a grounding problem. During one of my installs (5th or 6th car-- same headunit) I toasted something in my headunit, I managed to run a hot wire into the ground lead from the radio, whoops! (I still don't disconnect my battery tho )
Anyway it made the loudest, godawful, alternater whine ever. I had to reground the headunit to the chassis directly to shut it up. Uh, not real sure why I told you this, but hey, I wanted to share.
Anyway its a grounding issue fo sho!

Hey, if you want to do something kinda cool, you can listen to "hotspots" of whine: take an old tape player, hit play with no tape in it, turn the volume all the way up, and listen on the headphones as you move the tape player to various parts of the car. :naughty:
