You have a weak laser. Eventually it's gonna go kaput for good. But I'd say you still have some life left in it. CD lasers are kind of hit or miss. The laser in my Pioneer car CD changer is still great and it's the original from 1997. Same for my Sony home CD changer from 1996. I do see alot of late model Panasonic CD players at work (your factory head unit is Matsushita/Panasonic). We see Pioneers and Sony as well, so like I said it's hit or miss.
