What exactly is new/diff about the new f23 in 6th gens that makes 5w20 better than the f22 in 4th/5th gens that used 5w30?
Thats exactly why the recommendations changed; to increase CAFE MPG standards.
Many engines in Hondas lineup like my 3.2 V-6 s did not change at all, yet they called for changes from 5w-30 to 5w-20 simply based on the 2002 model year. The 2001 3.2 V-6 which was 100% unchanged called for 5w-30 in the CL-S, whereas now they call for 5w-30.
I for one am using Mobil 1 5w-30. I really believe in the long run, protection is being sacrificed to meet gov't standards, and its my car, and my interests I am looking after.
