So what you're trying to say is that the B18c (Japanese version) is a better choice than both the B16b and the B18c1 (US Version)?? I believe that the Japanese version is better than the US version, yet it is no way better than the type R B16b...here are a few of the B series engine specs...
B16b has better output power than both the B18c and the B18c1
B16b has 185ps/ 8200rpm while b18c only has 180/7600 and B18c1 only has 170/7600...

The compression ratio of the B16b is 10.8:1
the B18c has 10.6:1
the B18c1 has 10.0:1

The B16b has torque up to 7600 rpm while B18c has it up to 6200rpm and B18c1 has it up to 7300rpm.

B16b also has a weight advantage over these other two engines. It weighs less, and hence anything to make your car lighter, is better. You think just because the engine block is bigger, that its better. Its not the size of your engine, it's how you use it. Although the B18c and the B18c1 will be better in the long run if you race constantly, the B16b will still smoke your ass while you're blabbing to your buddy that you have a displacement advantage...
