Not Dx engine with VTEC. First of all there are several versions ranging from 90HP to 130HP. There are VTEC-E versions that say VTEC-E on the valve cover and there is the bad boy of them all, the three stage VTEC that says just HONDA on the grey valve cover and has two VTEC selenoids. Then there is the other 130HP version that says Honda and VTEC. If you doa search, VTEC.net has a good article about these motors. technically the engine is a 1.5L VX block with a SOHC VTEC D16Z6 head. I did the D15B 130HP swap in my cousins 5th gen DX using my exhaust and intake manifolds manifolds, wiring, dist., and tranny from my old D16Z6. I was pretty impressed when finished. Her car is definately faster than my civic was when it had the D series in it. What car would this be going in? The motor I bought for her cost $350.00 for a long block. I used the distributer and pretty much every other accessory from my D16Z6 and it worked out fine. There is still a problem with irratic idle at times but she just lives with it. She is in high school and loves the car now compared to her old notec 1.5. And I'm not sure if the stock manifold would give more power than the D16Z6 one since it was made for that motor but I'm betting they are the same anyway.
