Well, an O2 sensor is a little more complex then that, but yes, that's basiaclly what it is.

Does one really benefit that much from a new sensor?
Yes. In the long run, you will save gas, make more power, and pass emissions tests if you live in an emissions testing area. I would personally try an NGK stock fit replacement unit (~$80) before an OEM Honda replacement part. Mind you, a local dealer will probably charge more then Majestic Honda, probably $300+

With my aftermarket intake and exhaust, I'd expect the car to run more efficiently, but I've only been getting mid-20's in MPG, in city/hwy mixed driving (maybe I am revving it too much) Afterall, $270 buys a lot of gas...
Well, I'll keep this short and sweet. Yes, adding performance parts to your engine will make it flow more efficiently. No, it will not make it save gas, in fact it will burn more gas. That additional fuel burning off creates the power gains that individual products yeild. Revving the engine definately does not help either, the difference between my car getting 250 and 325 miles to a tank depends on how much I rev it. If you want the longer more detailed version of the fuel efficiency story, just ask.
