See this is what I'm talking about. You have this tunnel vision that every car HAS TO BE A PERFORMANCE car or it shouldn't be on the road. HELLO! About 5-10% of the cars sold today are going to be used for some kinda performance driving/modified and not be used for everyday BORING driving.

Why did they make an NA MR2? Why did all the turboed Toyotas become extinct? You really do need to wake up and stop thinking like this.

I would say 90% of the Civic owners here mod their car for fun. The other 9% drag race every weekend, and the other 1% road race and autocross. I bet you the same is true about NA MR2s and turboed MR2s. I've met one person in the 6 years I've been autocrossing who had a turboed MR2 and he hated it. Why? Cause the car is heavier and slower than the NA MR2 on an autocross course (note I said AUTOCROSS). Turbos are great for drag racing or open tracks but for autocross the turbo comes in at the wrong inopertune times.

But again I over emphasize that not every car has to be a performance car or whatever you want to word it. Most of these guys got it for one purpose AND then decided to modify their cars. We're not expecting any mods to give us 50hp, especially on a NA car. Write your question on any other 4 cylinder web board and you will get the same response.
