The material attaches to the door panel insert. Its easier to attach to the insert if you remove the door panel from the car, most have a few screws and then pop out. Once you have the door panel off you will be able to tell if your insert detaches from the door panel or not. You can choose to either use 3m Adhesive or to actually upholster/recover the insert.

I have not dealt with prelude, although I have with integras. Its not difficult, it just takes some time!
