Back when my SR was only making about the same amount of power as you b18 I would always beat WRXs. They will kill you off the line but I would catch them in third gear. I never have been impressed with the topend of the WRX.

I have always liked the WRX and all the money I spent getting my SR was supposed to be a downpayment on a WRX hence the reason I wanted to beat one so bad (to make me feel I made the right decision)
