Removing the cat or destroying it by hollowing it out are not very prudent routes to take, but getting a hi-flo unit does help tremendously. Again, the stock cat becomes a larger and larger bottleneck as you increase your breathing capabilities (eg. lumpy cams). There is a reason why dedicated ITA/ECHC cars run test pipes.
