Get the generic one. The AEM is just expensive and because they put your money into their CARB approval, but who actually pops your hood and gives you a ticket for an intake? Even if you say it's legal they still ***** about it and give you the ticket. That's why I'd say get the generic one. Same sh-t, different smell.
But if I were you I'd go with the K&N and take out the resonator. It's a much better combination and is definetly cheaper. If you have an 01+ coupe, you can even make a pipe going from your vent in the bumper to the intake box. Or you can get a bodykit like me and have your intake right behind the hole, but change/clean the filter every couple thousand miles.

It draws the air directly from your speed of your car, but varies A LOT between nighttime/daytime driving temperatures. (You can feel how slow the car bogs down during daytime)
