I'd suggest 4 new tires. Unless you feel that you could get away with just 2 tires for the time being until you could afford to get the other 2 later on. Personally, that would bother me to think that it's only a matter of time before my tires go bad and it might happen at the most inconvenient time. I'd just get it for peace of mind.
