I got denied admission to the University of Washington because their "white" quota was filled. I graduated in the top 10% of my class & a 1410 on my SAT and was denied... :madfawk: affirmative action...

I did, however, get accepted to WSU (Washington State University) under the same qualifications... but only because I'm 1/4 Native American...

Affirmative action has made it unethical and almost illegal for scholarships to cater to a non-minority group, but makes it ok to have things (for examples only) like the black college fund, filipino-american ass'n scholarships, etc. You will not find a scholarship competition that limits it's qualified applicants as hetero-sexual caucasian males.

Affirmative action is also the reason why there are more women in college nationally than men... because women are considered a social minority, and therefore are granted special priviledge for scholarship funds, contests, etc...






I am not agains affirmative action in it's intent, however I am very against the way it has been implemented...
