well my train of thought was leaning towards they weren't dead until he abandoned the trailer. upon revisiting it though yeah they probably died along the trip, got to the stop, he checked and found them all dead and in a panic left. i still contend that he should have just ditched the bodies somewhere and kept his trailer.
smugglers aren't evil, they're just businessmen...my guess was it was an accident. like i said, client loyalty, if he gets a rep for killing pedro's cousin pedro is sure as hell gonna find another smuggler.
