18secferio, what shop was that? SA shops don't know shit.
SCT motorsports off east nakoma. The place I got my spring put in. They're more into dsm's and fords (the owner had the fastest focus in texas :jerkit: ). I'm never going back to them again, needless to say.
But it is possible to get that kind of HP out of that engine but not without some cash. And a D16Z6 can handle 200HP reliably easy.
z6's and y7's are apples and oranges, but....
I know of a hatchback with a turbocharged DX motor running 12's. It has a lot of cash into the block and head though.
I still think you'd be better off with a y8 or a z6.
A shop in SA doing that kind of work though? None that I know of could do it. My cousin went to every shop in SA to see if they could install his cybernations Turbo Kit on his RSX and all of them declined to do it. He wanted someone else to do it to save time since it's his daily driver. We did it in two weeks working after work. It was relatively easy. I hate the shops here that is why I do everything myself except block work. But i know a guy that is a genious at building honda blocks but he does'nt own a shop so it takes him time to do the work.
The shop I was thinking about taking my swap to whenever the time comes is Team Extream on Naco just south of the Wurzbach parkway. SCT was my other choice, but after this, I dunno about them anymore. That comment they made about LX's having vtec was enought to make me wonder.... But then again, this guy who told me about putting $5000 into his y7 is a fucking moron, and has been known to lie in the past.
Either way, someone is stupid.

thats the same thing a guy with a worked mustang could say to you.. "why waste your time with a honda.. you could go much faster in a mustang for less money"
my take on the whole thing..... i have a y8 which is an equally crappy motor just has vtec... and i have had a 60 shot on it for almost 2 years now with NO problem... so im pretty sure you could get 200 hp out of a y7 utilizing nitrous.. my friend jared (some of you may remember him his name was builthatch) had a built y7 with nitrous and was running a pretty big shot... my assumption is you have about a 100 hp stock at the motor.... between building it bolt ons and a large wet shot you could probably eaily see 200 hp at the motor.. and i always figure on about %15 loss to the wheelsso youd need like 230ish at the motor.. would it be easy OR cost effective.. no probably not.. but i think you COULD do it.. and once built it would IMHO not be that much more unreliable than any other built honda motor
cost effectiveness is the key here. This kid's not rich. In fact, I'm better off than he is.
