The said you can get like 180hp...or was it more...out of a D16Z6 without doing any sort of nitrous or forced induction. For race applications, they bored it out to 2.0l, but for street 1.8l was max. They did a lot of work to this engine to be able to produce and handle this kind of power. It was in an issue of SCC a looooong time ago.

There's nothing wrong with building up a SOHC. Not everyone wants to swap.
I'm not saying y8's and z6's can't be potencial beasts. But a y7?!? Come on, its a freaking econo engine to the max. I'd be surprized if you could get 150 out of that thing without swaping a y8 head. And if you're going to do that, why not just get a y8
