Check spark plug wires...
Wait till after dark, & this works better when the engine is completely cold. Take off the sparkplug cover plate so you can see all of the wires. Start the engine & turn off ALL the lights. Look for any sparks - see if the wires have a faint blue glow. They should be COMPLETELY dark. If they have any arcing then replace the wires. If the arcing is on the distributor cap, replace it too. Do you know how to check your camshaft timing? Do that or have it done. But I don't think that's it.
Check your fuel pressure regulator. Ghetto check - the vacuum hose to the FPR should NOT have any gasoline in it. If it does, the FPR is bad. If there's no gasoline, the FPR might still be bad; you have to use a fuel pressure gauge to check it out.
